Serious diseases

Many serious diseases occur in the Lui hospital region. Most of the patients brought in are children under the age of 5. These children often have diarrhea and are dehydrated. But other diseases are also common, such as measles, eye diseases and even cholera.

Many diseases are caused by poor drinking water and also by poor water for washing or bathing. Although the water is often pumped clean from the various wells, people still get sick when they drink it. A role in this is that the jerry cans are used intensively but are not cleaned sufficiently in between.
